Description

Last year I imaged the Leo Triplet using a 5 inch refractor. I decided that each of the three galaxies really reserved to be imaged separately, so a few nights ago I imaged M66.

The night was fairly clear  but wind gusts most of the night. I was able to take 157 images (2 minute subs) but only 127 were usable due to the wind gusts.

M66 is a spiral galaxy about 32 Million light years away. It was discovered by Charles Messier in 1780!

M66 and it neighbor M65 are one of my favorite observing objects this time of year.
